Oral Presentation Guidelines
CONTRIBUTED oral presentations are 15 minutes in length, which includes 4 minutes for questions.
INVITED presentations are 30 minutes in length, which includes 6 minutes for questions.
Due to the many parallel sessions and the need for attendees to move between sessions, the Session Moderators will strictly adhere to the schedule. You must plan your presentation so that you finish within your allotted time and the session stays on schedule.
Windows laptops, projectors, screens, microphones, and an HDMI connection will be provided in all session rooms. We strongly encourage you to use the conference computer and test your presentation in the Presenter Preview Room, preferably the day before your presentation. If using the conference computer, please load your presentation at least five minutes before your session or during a session break. PowerPoint is the recommended presentation software, with 16:9 as the preferred slide format (4:3 is supported but may display black bars). If you plan to use your own laptop, please bring any required adapters/dongles and a backup copy of your presentation on a USB flash drive. Be sure to test your equipment and resolve any compatibility issues before your presentation.
IMPORTANT PHOTO POLICY NOTE: While AVS maintains a No-Photo policy, we recognize that many attendees are eager to share their experiences at AVS 72 on social media. This can often create confusion around when it is appropriate to take photos or post content online. As it is not feasible for session moderators to monitor this activity comprehensively, we kindly request that all presenters clearly indicate their photo policy on the first slide of their presentation. Additionally, we ask that you verbally communicate your preferences to the audience at the beginning of your talk. Given that many presenters include QR codes or actively encourage social sharing, it is important to ensure clarity.
Please add one of the following graphics to your presentation to clearly stating your preferences helps avoid misunderstandings and supports a respectful environment for all presenters.
